I'm sure that manny of you have herd of Dish Networks recent news about the multiple dropped channels including: Fox, IFC (Independent Film Channel), the Weather Channel, but the channel most offended by Dish Network is AMC, home of "The Walking Dead," "Mad Men," and "Breaking Bad." AMC has had no successful steps in reconnecting with Dish, but their actions say they don't want to reunite but prevent consumers from getting Dish Network by airing propaganda like the picture above obviously referring to "The Walking Dead" and using slogans like "You should be getting MAD" alluding to "Mad Men" both shows being dropped by Dish. The only problem with the propaganda is that no one on Dish Network can see them, only people with other networks, so the propaganda is just trying to prevent people from going to Dish. So AMC sent an e-mail asking Dish for air time so they can show their "Attack Ads" to Dish subscribers and offered a good deal of money but the spokesmen only replied "We're not selling them time." Dish Network claims the dropped channels is due to the over pricing to carry the channels but AMC says its about disagreements on the contract.
I find AMC behavior toward Dish to be really funny, this Article caught my eye because AMC's shows are very entertaining for me and they show great movies all the time. AMC is a channel that i always turn to first, and i see these "Attack Ads" all the time and they're pretty funny, but seeing the "Attack Ads" as a Student i think AMC is getting they're point through that its unfair just to drop channels like that. As a future film maker i see how the television industry is very cut throat, and as a consumer this effects me to a Pro-AMC motive and not switch to Dish just because of the dropped channels. One question that pops up in my head is…what did you think of the propaganda?…have you seen it?…are they getting their point through?
